Design
First we conducted a Knowledge Review of 33 relevant publications together with additional articles identified through the process. Read more about it here.
We then conducted co-design interviews conducted with eight participants from different states and territories in Australia, across a range of urban and remote areas, and from two main industries: construction and consultation. Read more about the co-design interviews and the resulting Story of Change framework here.

The most important themes for Indigenous businesses are in the table below.
Impacts
This research focuses on the important and complex issue of understanding and articulating the social impact of Indigenous businesses – and presents a culturally meaningful model to measure and monitor the broader holistic benefits of investing in Indigenous businesses as defined by Indigenous businesses themselves.
